School Uniforms Policy
The Northern Territory Department of Education School Uniforms policy does not directly address anti-discrimination legislation, nor does it comment on gender related considerations.
The policy does identify the need for community engagement in the creation of a school uniform policy, stating that:
Principals are responsible for, in consultation with their school communities, developing, reviewing and communicating a dress code for their school

If your school is not following the Department’s policy, or you think the policy is inadequate to ensure shorts and pants are made available to girls, write to the department so that they can take action.
